Well that sucked.

I have been trying to get back into art. I also tried to quit at completely. I lived in a limbo for many years, not making art and not being able to stop expecting myself to make it.

I finally got the advice I needed, mentioned in an early episode of the Art Juice podcast. Basically the advice was to only make art that was fun or interesting for ME to make, and trust the rest.

So that is what I am doing, with the help of a few too many classes. I am taking a Free Up Your Sketchbook class with Karen Stamper. I am also in the Drawing Acedemy and the Old Masters Academy. Tracking it from both sides. I couldn’t tell if part off y block was that I didn’t have the skills to execute my ideas. The Academy classes are hard and tedious, but I’m grateful to them because it was the first step back into recovering an art practice.
